We use demographic filters to identify those people most likely to become new clients and invite them to attend your event. Common demographics are age, gender, income, location, interests, profession, skills, etc.
For many seminars, "Age - Adult 2 Year Age Bands" is sufficient, but in other situations, such as Social Security Timing or Medicare enrollment programs, you may wish to use ‘Age - Adult Month of Birth’ to precisely identify those whose age correctly matches the products or services you are offering.
There are several data points we could use to specify income targets, but you will select the income ranges that are most appropriate to target your best prospects. For example, if you are delivering a Social Security optimization presentation, you may find better prospects at lower income ranges.
Net Worth provides a simple means of identifying the affluence of potential attendees, but this does not filter out illiquid assets such as home equity or the value of accumulated possessions. Because illiquid assets don’t indicate whether a prospect is able to buy your products or services, net worth isn’t often used as a demographic filter.
Claritas® Income Producing Assets is the gold standard for identifying those prospects with money to purchase your products or services. It provides insight into the liquid assets of a household based on responses to the Claritas Financial Track survey of financial behaviors, the largest financial survey in the industry. Through this survey, Claritas collects actual dollar measures from each survey respondent.
When you have selected your seminar venue, use that location as a center point to determine a reasonable travel distance radius for your prospects and only invite those who live near enough to commute to your event within a feasible time frame.
